Female cut free from car after A38 crash leaves vehicle in ditch

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A38 last night.

Two vehicles collided on the A38 Eastbound from Woodpecker to Marley Head Junction.

The incident, which happened just after 8.45pm, resulted in one car leaving the road and ending up in a ditch.

A female casualty was trapped within the vehicle and had to be cut free by fire crews, before being taken to hospital by ambulance. The other occupant was able to extract themselves from the car.

The driver of the other car involved had managed to free themselves from the vehicle before crews arrived on scene.

Police, fire and ambulance all attended the scene.
