Janet Streeter will be making her first trip to HOYS this year after qualifying in the small riding horse class.
Janet gained her ticket after finishing third riding her own Wolvers Story Teller. "I still don't believe it and probably won't until we actually get there, but I am over the moon," said Janet, who produces Story Teller from home with the help of her husband Gary, the Conservative MP for Devon South West.
"We did two qualifiers last year but this season has been our first serious attempt," said Janet, who works as Gary's parliamentary researcher.
Janet purchased Story Teller, who was once produced by Richard Ramsay, three years ago. Janet first spotted Storyteller at Bath & West show a few years ago when he was still owned by his breeder Patricia Allpress. "I told my husband he was my dream horse," said Janet. "When Mrs Allpress died he went back to the stud and Gary ended up buying him for me as a surprise, which was fantastic."
Janet and the 12-year-old are heading to British Arabian championships, the Cherif championships, before going to the NEC in October.
