Engineering firm wins supply chain award

North Devon marine manufacturer J+S Ltd have been given a supply chain award by defence giant Thales.

The award, for the Most Proactive Contributor to Sensor Support Optimisation Programme, was handed out by Thales Group UK at their annual Supply Chain Engagement Event.

The £660 million SSOP programme was set up last year, and, earlier this month. J+S were awarded a 10-year, £6 million contract for the support and maintenance of 17 systems across the Royal Navy fleet.

The Barnstaple-based sub sea engineering business also has an office in Aberdeen.

The firm’s director defence Paul Parsons said: “We have put a lot of engineering support knowledge and effort into this programme and receiving this award reflects the commitment and hard work provided by the SSOP team.”
