The Duchess of Cornwall, who has made three visits to Devon County Show in the past decade, has accepted an Honorary Life Vice-Presidency of the Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA), which stages the annual event.
John Lee OBE, Chairman of Council of the DCAA, said: “We are thrilled that The Duchess of Cornwall is willing to accept this honorary position. Her Royal Highness has become a real champion of what we do and a friend to everyone involved.”
HRH The Prince of Wales is the long-standing Patron of the DCAA and last year extended his term until 2018. His wife was DCAA president in 2008 and the couple are keen supporters of the County Show, attending together in 2005.
The Duchess was elected President of the DCAA in 2008, when she attended again, and also attended last year’s show.
The DCAA has played a leading role in the development of agriculture in Devon since its formation in 1872. This year, on May 22, 23 and 24, the show marks 25 years at its permanent showground at Westpoint, Exeter.
