A driver had to be cut-free from his car by firefighters after it careered off the road, flipped over and landed upside down in a ditch yesterday at just before midday.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Ham Green Plantation, Bickleigh, Plymouth.
A fire engine from Camels Head and a second from Crownhill were sent to rescue the man. During the operation crews used a winch, hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools.
Ambulance crews stood by until the man was brought to safety and he was eventually taken to Derriford Hospital.
