Distinctive jewellery and war medals taken in Ashburton burglary

War medals and distinctive jewellery has been snatched in a burglary in Ashburton.

Police in Teignbridge are investigating the burglary at a property in Woodland Road, Ashburton on Wednesday 16 April, between 12.30pm and 4pm.

Police say a number of full-sized and miniature war medals including a Bronze Star were stolen during the raid.

Valuable items of jewellery were also taken including a particularly distinctive gold necklace with a gold pendant of a parachutist, as well as numerous rings and other items.

During the time the burglary was committed, a number of people were seen in and around the area going door-to-door, possibly in relation to home improvements.

Officers at Newton Abbot CID would like to hear from anyone with any knowledge of the incident, anyone who has had items of jewellery or medals offered to them, or anyone with information in relation to the people going door-to-door.
