POLICE want to hear from witnesses who may have seen an attack between two groups of men which left a taxi damaged.

At around midnight on January 17 there was an incident in Union Street outside the Best Kebab shop which involved the two groups.

One of the groups got into a white taxi and left the area. However, police were told a black male from the second group then boarded a black taxi and demanded the driver follow the first taxi.

The second taxi followed the first taxi twice around Cattedown Roundabout and then down Embankment Road onto the A38.

The first taxi left the A38 at the Manadon roundabout slip road. It was still being followed by the second taxi which stopped next to it at traffic lights.

Police believe the black male got out of the second taxi and smashed a side window of the first taxi. The black male then got back into the second taxi and left the area.

Detectives want to speak to the driver of the second taxi regarding this incident and his fare.

A CCTV image from Royal Parade, taken at 12.10am January 18 has been released by investigators.

If you can assist police contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference number EL/14/248.
