The Alfords went on to the Royal Smithfield Festival at Peterborough, where Harlem Shake also triumphed.

Michael Alford said: "Smithfield always holds great times for us and this year was yet another great show for us at the Peterborough showground, making it a record sixth year in a row we have won the steer championship at this event."

At the Welsh Winter Fair top honours with the Supreme Interbreed Championship went to Richard Wright from Somerton, Somerset with his pedigree Limousin heifer Powerhouse Hella, weighing in at 566kgs and shown by Paul Walker.
