A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision with a car in Plymouth.

Emergency services were sent to Longbridge near Marsh Mills just after 7am.

The cyclist was knocked unconscious in the collision - but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police say the cyclist has been taken to hospital.

Officers are warning everyone using the roads to take extra care as a number of routes are very icy.

Plymouth police officer Ryan Canning said: "Many untreated roads will have icy patches which, if in the shade are likely to stay all day - so stay alert!"
