Fire broke out at a recycling warehouse in Yeovil yesterday afternoon.

At just after 2pm the alarm was raised at the site, on Rimpton Road, Marston Magna, where paper is recycled.

Flames were spotted in the paper hopper.

By the time fire crews arrived, staff at the plant had already extinguished them.

Extensive damage to a one-tonne bale of paper was caused during the blaze.

The bale was removed from the building while crews stayed at the scene with hose reels in case the fire was not completely out.
