Conditional discharge for benefits fraudster

A Cornish man who falsely claimed more than £19,000 in housing and council tax benefits has been sentenced for fraud offences. David Doble, 45, originally from Longdowns, Penryn, near Falmouth, was given a two-year conditional discharge at Truro Crown Court on Friday. He pleaded guilty to six counts of benefit fraud, two counts of failing to report changes in circumstances and four counts of making false statements by failing to disclose his partner was in paid employment.
