Young choristers will be presenting a selection of traditional carols at a special concert in Truro Cathedral this month.

At the heart of the programme on Saturday December 14 are early arrangements of festive favourites like Away in a Manger, We Three Kings, Sans Day Carol, Silent Night and Once In Royal David's City. Alongside these will sit a short selection of numbers from Handel's Messiah and one or two less well-known works like the Spanish 16th century carol, Ríu Ríu Chíu. There will also be readings by Richard and Juliet Lingham and Radio Cornwall's Daphne Skinnard and Tim Hubbard.

Cathedral communications officer, Colin Reid, said: "If this doesn't get people into the seasonal spirit, nothing will."

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £12 to £15 (students £6 to £7.50, under-16s free), are available from the Hall for Cornwall box office on 01872 262466 or online.
