Somerset's Dunster Castle will be aglow later this week as the medieval site turns back the clock for its annual candlelight event.
On Friday and Saturday evening, the village around the castle will light its streets with candles, while the historic interiors of Dunster Castle, near Minehead, will be decorated for a family Christmas. Dazzling trees will also adorn the rooms.
Garlands made from cuttings from the castle's garden will also be on show while the castle will be illuminated, providing a perfect festive atmosphere.
The Christmas sights and sounds include carols in the main hall with the Taunton School choir, Quantock Musical Theatre Company, the Watchet Town Band, In Harmony choir, Quest choir and the Taunton Suzuki Violinists.
Hot chocolate and biscuits will also be available from the house to help warm visitors, and the 17th century stables will be brought alive with a Christmas market.
John Lax, visitor services manager at the castle, said: "Dunster by Candlelight is one of my favourite events and is the perfect way to start the countdown to Christmas."
Dunster by Candlelight runs 5-9pm on December 6 and 7.
