Cornish Rebels were able to celebrate their historic first South West Rugby League home game last Saturday with an emphatic victory.
Redruth's Recreation Ground was the stage for the first official rugby league club game to be staged in the county, and the Rebels made the most of the occasion with a 40-18 win over Devon Sharks.
Six days after playing at Twickenham for Cornwall's rugby union side, Ashley Lawton of Camborne RUFC scored the Rebels' first try.
Darren Pellow (with two), Grant Thirlby, Tom Wilkinson, Llocryn Williams and Ethan Pattison scored further tries, and player-coach Johnny Platt added six conversions. Ross Morris, Jake Monington and Tom Winfield were the Sharks' try scorers, with Jack Keiller converting all three.
Elsewhere in last Saturday's South West Rugby League programme, Alex Stevens scored a total of 20 points, including four tries, for Exeter Centurions in their 54-16 home win over Plymouth Titans. North Devon Raiders beat Somerset Vikings 60-24.
