Armed police officers and negotiators were called to a property in Newton Abbot last night after reports of threats to kill were made.
At 7pm armed officers, a dog handler and police negotiators, attended St Marys Court in Newton Abbot following reports of "threats to kill".
Teignbridge Supt Glen Mayhew said: "After negotiations a local man aged in his 60s was arrested.
"This is being described as a domestic incident."
No injuries were reported by police and the man has been bailed while further investigations continue.
