Devon defender Giselle Ansley will be aiming to help England out of their group in the women's Hockey World League finals in Tucuman, Argentina, on Tuesday.
The South Devon star – who plays for Surbiton in the Investec Women's Premier Division after starting at Plymouth Marjon in the West Clubs Women's League – will hope to feature as England take on Germany (2.30pm).
Ansley came off the substitutes' bench as England completed an emphatic 6-2 opening Pool A win over Korea. She then started England's 3-2 second-day defeat against Netherlands, in which former Exmouth 'keeper Maddie Hinch – now at Holcombe – made her second start as England's number one.
England came within three minutes of their second victory over the Netherlands in 2013 but the world number two side turned the game round with two late goals in as many minutes to win 3-2.
The runners-up in Pool A will meet the team which finishes third in Pool B on Saturday, currently Australia.
University of Exeter completed the first half of the NOW: Pensions England Hockey League season with a 2-1 home win over 2013 Men's Conference West champions Cardiff & Met.
Fourth-placed Exeter will return to league action at Cheltenham on February 9 buoyed by their latest success.
Sunday's win over Cardiff & Met came courtesy of early goals. Ian Haley – who played for South Africa in the 2012 Olympics – got Exeter off to a flying start with a fourth-minute opener.
Top scorer Nick Cooper doubled their lead on 12 minutes as Exeter avenged an early season 4-2 defeat at Cardiff. Robin Lovegrove replied for Cardiff.
Bath top scorer Tim Davenport scored a hat-trick as Buccs completed a 4-0 home win over Isca.
Defeat for Isca and a 2-0 win for basement side Guildford at Fareham means the Blues will start the New Year – and the second half of the season – at the bottom of the table.
Isca resume with back-to-back home matches against Indian Gymkhana (February 9) and relegation rivals Guildford (February 16).
Exeter-based Exe will start the second half of the 2013-14 Women's Conference West season at the foot of the table following a 5-0 defeat at Swansea Spartans. Exe face a tough start to 2014, away to Oxford Hawks on February 8.
Isca University's next opponents are Swansea, at the University Sports Park on February 8, as they seek to improve on a 1-1 home draw with Bristol's Firebrands.
