Hundreds of homes were affected by a power cut in Plymstock this morning.
Western Power Distribution said initially 1,600 homes were without power from around 11am but more than half had had connections restored by 11.45am.
The problem is believed to have started with an underground cable.
A spokeswoman said: “We understand there is a underground cable fault affecting around 1,600 homes.
We’ve managed to reconnect half of those and are working to switch the remaining customers to alternate power supplies.
“We don’t know the exact cause at this time.”
